This is our new moonshot!

With rocket science, we're transforming slums into 3D environments (Decent, Digital and Developed), and we'll bring poverty to the museum!

Brazilian favelas

Between 2010 e 2019 the number of favelas has increased 108% reaching 13.151

There are 14 milion people living in favelas

89% are located in metropolitan areas

Project approach

We are challenging the human potential to its limit, testing our creativity and inventiveness to deliver a future without poverty in the slums. An innovative, unique and revolutionary project. We are restructuring the Vila Itália (São José do Rio Preto/SP) and Vergel do Lago (Maceió/AL) favelas to promote a complete transformation, focused on improving the quality of life of their residents.

3d favela, does it exist?

See the article presented in Jornal Nacional to learn about the project that will transform the space of favelas into 3D: Dignified, Digital and Developed, and will openly take the poverty of the favela to the museum before Mars is colonized.

How to implement rocket science

to fight poverty?

This question led us to seek the best solutions and study innovative methodologies that have shown results of social impact in the fight against poverty, to create a 3D Favela.

To fight the advance of poverty in Brazil, it is necessary to act with agility, innovation and a network of actors to bring solutions to put poverty in the museum once and for all.

Family Takeoff Plan

We will follow the journey of each family in the slums served, ensuring that they have support in their planning and development of their needs. For this to happen, we will structure a multidisciplinary team to carry out a plan with each family by mapping housing-related needs; income generation and social development.

Decent housing and Social Urbanism

Based on the reality of each community, we will create a set of urban interventions integrated with the territory and the concept of coexistence, carried out with social participation, aimed at integral human development and the promotion of citizenship. Innovative technologies in equipment, housing and community structure will transform favelas into decent spaces for residents.

Income Generation

To boost the income generation of residents, we will promote projects aimed at entrepreneurship, professional qualification and employability, taking into account local strengths and vocations. In six months of intervention, we will see the first income boost in the favela.

Social Development

Solutions for access to health, citizenship and a culture of peace, the right to education, early childhood, women's autonomy, culture, sport and leisure will be articulated to break the cycle of poverty in the favelas. The family take-off plan aligns the solutions so that each family receives the solutions according to their profile and needs. The solutions mandala focuses on people, building effective participation by residents and long-term sustainability of the transformation.

Project Journey:

Diagnosis and Exploration

After this first mapping, which we call Design Thinking, we go to Diagnosis and Exploration, the first 2 phases for the 3D favela to be developed.

Diagnosis

We identify the main challenges and prioritize the most urgent improvement opportunities for the favela.

Explore the diagnoses

Based on the diagnosis, we defined an initial challenge to be developed. We will explore the challenge with a 3D view, expanding the volume and quality of knowledge on the subject, with the aim of investigating the real needs and aspirations of the residents.

Co-creation with the community

From the conceptualization and reformulation of the challenge, we will solve the problems and apply the insights obtained from the research

It is important to engage project actors to think and test ideas. Their participation enables greater adherence to the implementation of solutions.

How will a 3D FAVELA be??

Planned and self-sustainable environments created with social programs and services, income generation, access to housing so that everyone has the right to be Dignified, Digital and Developed
